Alex Fraser, Former Red Arrow and Sky Vision Executive, Passes Away at 54

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alex Fraser, the former executive at Red Arrow Studios, Sky Vision, and IMG Media, who died at the age of 54. Fraser, a well-respected acquisitions and distribution specialist, had been battling cancer and passed away earlier this month at his home in London.

A Storied Career in the Media Industry

Fraser was a prominent figure in the international media landscape, known for his expertise in financing European co-productions in both scripted and unscripted content. Over the course of nearly 25 years, Fraser held senior roles at Red Arrow Studios International (now Seven. One Studios International), Sky Vision (now part of Sky Studios), and IMG Media. He also ran his own consultancy, AMF Consulting, and played pivotal roles at other major distributors.

He was widely admired for his deep knowledge of the industry, especially his remarkable ability as a dealmaker. His network and skills were essential to the success of many projects, and his influence extended far beyond the companies he worked for.

Tributes from Colleagues and Industry Leaders

Fraser’s colleagues remember him not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his warm personality and sense of humor. Henrik Pabst, a former colleague at IMG Media, spoke fondly of their friendship, saying:

“Alex was one of these rare souls, very funny and cynically sharp, yet with a heart half the size of his body. His view on life and on work topics helped me often to see clearer. I will miss you, my dear friend.”

Niki Page, who worked with Fraser at both Sky Vision and Red Arrow, described him as an exceptional person with an invaluable industry knowledge and a big heart. She said:

“Alex was a font of industry knowledge, knowing who worked where, who bought what, and who might be in line to make the next big move. He was a dry sense of humor, quick wit, sharp intelligence, and, above all, a big heart. I will miss him terribly.”

Malcolm Gerrie, a colleague at Whizz Kid Entertainment, also shared his condolences:

“Alex was hugely likeable, charming, and smart. He knew everyone and his gentle manner was a hit both with producers and buyers. He will be sorely missed.”

His kindness, professionalism, and dedication to his work and colleagues made him a beloved figure within the international media community. His contributions to the industry will be remembered, and his friendship cherished by those who had the privilege to know him.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all those who were touched by his remarkable career and warm personality.
